We must provide pathways for those harmed by the war on drugs to be the foundation of the new legalized cannabis industry. To make that happen, communities who’ve been harmed must have equitable access to licensing, financing, and business development support and be able to start at the same time as everyone else. Too often, politicians talk about legalizing cannabis to right historic wrongs only to make it virtually impossible for people harmed by the war on drugs to benefit from this multi billion dollar business.

New York has a chance to get this legislation right for all New Yorkers where the industry and reinvestment from tax revenue support growth in the communities harmed by the war on drugs.

We look forward to working with the Governor and Legislature to make that happen.
